CHARACTER
Character Name: Asriel Dreemurr
Character Age: 12
Canon: Undertale
Canon Point: Post true pacifist ending
History: Asriel's history is here.
Personality:

Asriel is a friendly and caring child, who goes out of his way to help others. When the first human, Chara, fell into the Underground, it was Asriel who found them. After seeing how badly injured Chara was and hearing their calls for help, Asriel came to their rescue and took them back to his parents to treat their wounds. Despite not knowing much about Chara, Asriel readily accepted them into his family and grew attached to them as both a friend and sibling. Judging by his incredibly strong attachment to Chara, it's implied that they were really Asriel's only friend. But as far as Asriel was concerned, Chara was the only friend he needed. A lot of his free time was spent playing with Chara, and the both of them indulged in games and pranks. Asriel himself even showed off his mischievous side around Chara by playing light-hearted pranks of his own, even managing to trick Chara into smiling for him when he pretends to use a camera to film him.

Even though Asriel is kind and gentle to those around him, his kindness leads him to be somewhat of a pushover. He's described as being a crybaby, to the point where Chara scolds him for it. And when he feels guilty or ashamed of something he's done, it sticks with him for a long time. For example, when he and Chara bake a cake for their father, they accidentally use the wrong ingredients that make him really sick. When Chara brings it up later, Asriel confesses that he wished he could've laughed it off like they did.

Asriel is heavily influenced by Chara and looks up to them, which makes it easy for Asriel to get dragged into their plans. Chara encouraged Asriel to help them find a way to free the monsters of the Underground. Asriel, who deeply trusted Chara, wanted to do his part to help set everyone free. So when Chara came up with the idea to poison themselves and have Asriel absorb his soul to break through the barrier, Asriel reluctantly agreed to their plan. Although for Asriel, he was naive enough to not fully realize the consequences of their plan. When Chara died after poisoning themselves, Asriel immediately became distraught and wracked with guilt at losing his friend. Still, he remained committed to their plan of freeing the Underground and took Chara's soul and body to the surface. Unfortunately, despite Asriel having complete faith in Chara's plan, Chara attempts to take control of his body to attack the humans once they were on the surface. Asriel, unwilling to cause any harm to the humans, resisted Chara's control and was killed by the humans on the surface. Asriel's death resulted in him being reborn later as Flowey.

Flowey the Flower is the soulless form of Asriel. And since a soul is a vital to monsters in order to feel love and compassion, Asriel is reborn without being able to express any of the love or kindness he had prior to his death. All of his feelings of despair and loneliness are expressed through Flowey, usually when he interacts with Frisk on his journey. During the genocide route, Flowey tells a story about how he woke up in the garden, terrified when he couldn't feel his arms or legs. After being found and cared for by his parents, he realized that he doesn't feel anything for them in return. In an attempt to find something that can make him feel love again, and by extension, happiness, he leaves his parents behind. But despite helping as many people as he can, and then using his new powers of "resetting" to kill everyone, he still feels just as empty and unable to feel any kind of joy.

Asriel ultimately adopts the philosophy of "kill or be killed" after he becomes Flowey. Because of his and Chara's deaths, he becomes jaded and guilt-ridden over his decision to refuse to fight back when he was being attacked. He ends up blaming himself for their deaths, and assumes that the rest of the world is a place where only the strongest and the ones willing to kill are the only ones worthy of surviving.

Asriel tries forcing this belief onto Frisk, in an attempt to mold Frisk to be more like Chara. At every step of Frisk's journey, Asriel as Flowey tries to challenge Frisk's ideals. In the genocide route, if Frisk does adopt a "kill or be killed" attitude and becomes Chara, Asriel expresses joy and relief at having his friend back. But his joy ends up turning to fear when he realizes that Chara will kill him without hesitation. In the pacifist route, Asriel tries to project Chara onto Frisk in a desperate attempt to have his friend back. And more importantly, Asriel is so desperately lonely that he's willing to ignore that Frisk isn't Chara and begs him to stay with him. Asriel even goes as far as absorbing all the souls in the Underground, gaining a god-like power, in order to reset everything so that he can go back to be a happy, carefree child. Or at least, he wants to keep "Chara" from leaving him again.

After being defeated and saved by Frisk, Asriel shows disgust at his behavior as Flowey. He tells Frisk that he did so many horrible things to his friends and family. He even tries to distance himself from his actions a little, saying to Frisk how he "did some pretty weird stuff as a flower". He never wanted to be the cause of someone else's suffering, which is why he struggles so much accepting the things he did as Flowey. He refuses to see his parents before they leave for the surface because he doesn't want to break their hearts when he has to return to being a soulless flower again.

Asriel then makes the ultimate sacrifice. He gives up the souls he absorbed to break the barrier and free all monsters, while knowing it would mean he'd return to being the soulless Flowey again. While this wouldn't be an easy decision to make, Asriel makes it without hesitation, which shows Asriel's inner strength and how he faces hard decisions. Even at the cost of himself and his own happiness, he still tries to do what's best for others. While he doesn't regret his decision, he does sadly admit that he doesn't want to let go when Frisk comforts him. All this shows that despite having his moments of being a pushover, Asriel is extremely strong-willed individual.

Despite everything, Asriel still holds onto his cynical view of the world. He mentions to Frisk that not all problems can be solved by being nice, and there's a lot of "Floweys" out on the surface. This outlook is partially influenced by all the hatred and pain that Asriel felt as Flowey, which caused him to lose his child-like innocence. Despite his somewhat bitter attitude, he still encourages and believes in Frisk's kindness. So even though he can't be completely saved, he's still shown that there's hope for both humans and monsters.

Inventory: Asriel's PacDisk that he got from Thisavrou, which stores items of any size for future use. It contains a shirt that was given to him by Papyrus and one bottle of scorpion vodka. He also has an identity disk that he received from visiting Tron Legacy's universe. The disk contains all of Asriel's data, from his appearance to every single memory he's ever had. He can also use it as a weapon.
Abilities: Asriel has an ability that all monsters share, and that's the ability to absorb human souls once a human is killed. He also has the potential to learn fire magic, as both of his parents possess this ability and it's one of his attacks in the true pacifist ending. But he doesn't seem to know how to use fire magic before he becomes Flowey. The fire magic his parents appear as fireballs, and in his mother's case, she also uses it for cooking.

After being turned into Flowey, Asriel gains the power of "saving" and "resetting". It essentially means that Asriel can travel back to any point in time he "saved" at, and from there create a new timeline. And if he doesn't like how the new timeline turned out? He can reset back to his save point so that he can start over as many times as he wants. Additionally, Flowey has the ability to change the shape of his face to whatever he wants.

When Asriel absorbs multiple human souls, he gains an almost god-like power which he uses in two ways. During the first fight with Asriel as Flowey, he alters his form into a giant, terrifying flower monster and traps Frisk in a world devoid of any life other than the two of them. During that fight, Asriel uses all kinds of attacks - lasers, flamethrowers, vines, even attacks that are based on the personalities of the human souls he absorbed.

During Frisk's second fight with Asriel, he absorbs the human souls plus the soul of every monster in the Underground. This gives Asriel enough power to change his form into what Asriel envisions his adult self to be like. And in this form he gains an incredible strength and power, being able to use swords, powerful lightening attacks, and lasers.

His abilities that he gained from Thisavrou involve healing magic that his mother taught him. He also has stronger legs due to genetic modification, but it makes him tired the more force he puts into his legs.

Flaws: Asriel has a lot to answer for, namely genociding his people as Flowey the Flower. He's also responsible for killing Frisk several times, stealing the SOULs of six fallen humans plus the SOUL of every monster in the Underground, and trying to gain godlike power to manipulate the timeline just to keep Frisk trapped. Asriel has hurt and abused many people as Flowey, resetting timelines so that he can do it all over again.

Even after regaining his compassion, Asriel is still very cynical about the world. He shuts himself off from other people, hides secrets, and tends to be cowardly when it comes to dealing with heavy consequences.

After Thisavrou, he's far more paranoid and aggressive. He easily becomes co-dependent on others that he feels can keep him safe. He's far more negative, and expects the worst from people. He also has more moments of violence, especially if he's afraid.

Previous Development:

Asriel's gone through some pretty drastic changes from his time in Thisavrou.

His first few months involved him adjusting from being Flowey, to having his body back as well as his compassion and love - and all the guilt that came with it. Frisk, Chara, and several monsters from the Underground arrived on the ship as well, leaving Asriel to decide whether to deal with his guilt or hide his identity. He chose to try to be the Prince of Monsters that they remembered, out of fear of being hated if they knew the truth.

Later on, he met a Program named Rinlzer crawling around in the ducts. Fascinated by the Program’s cool and mysterious personality, his ability to pilot a ship, and all of his cool moves, Asriel quickly befriended Rinzler. In return, Rinzler decided to teach Asriel how to pilot a ship, which became Asriel’s passion.

They landed on a planet where everyone could visit their homeworlds. Asriel got to visit the Surface with his mother for a while, a trip that allowed him to age a little. He also went to Rinzler’s homeworld after he was captured. This led to Asriel being captured as well, and fitted with an identity disk that would remain with him permanently.

The end of June and the rest of July is what really impacted Asriel, and would stay with him for a very long time. Towards the end of June, all of Asriel's insecurities finally caught up with him. He felt as though he didn't deserve a second chance to start over, and was just lying to everyone to make them think he was still the same, old Asriel that they remembered. In an impulsive decision, he wrote a note to Frisk saying that he was going to take a Transporter ship and run away. However, Frisk, Toriel, and Papyrus intervened to stop him. He confessed his real identity as Flowey and much to his surprise, he wasn't rejected for it. They managed to talk him down and convince him to stay.

In July, an alien ship attacked the Moira for a past offense the previous crew had committed, putting Asriel and everyone he knew in danger. His friends and family were quickly slaughtered, and he was forced to watch his own mother die while protecting him. The incident caused him to absorb a few SOULs of fallen Caducans, and he transformed himself into the God of Hyperdeath. He slaughtered as many attacking Caducans as he could, before the fight finally ended and the ship became partially crystallized after the battle. Asriel was left with a glass chest, and the guilt of what he did out of anger and grief. A Program named Clu found him, and reprogrammed his disk to fix his glass chest - but not without programming Asriel to be more loyal to him first.

Before Asriel could pick up the pieces and recover, he was thrust into a new horror. He was plucked off the ship and dropped off at the Outpost, a place that deals in capturing and selling slaves. He was muzzled, bound, and sold off to a man who used him for hard labor. He was treated like an animal, kept locked up in a dark cell and starved after being fed only trash. Kyoko eventually helped him escape partway, before he was brought back to the Moira by Rinzler. The incident left him more submissive and terrified, with a fear of the dark and a fear of being deprived of food. Afterwards he was haunted with the constant fear of being taken away again, and forced back into slavery.

During that time, Asriel lost Chara after they vanished from the ship, and developed a new bond with Mettaton over their shared experience of slavery. He continued pilot training with Rinzler.

A few months later, the Moira stopped at the Mini Colony for supplies. Asriel discovered a shop specializing in transferring a person’s mind temporarily into an unconscious body, meaning that person could spend the day as whoever they wanted. Without Asriel’s permission, they cloned him and put his copy up for sale. Not only was the experience violating, but it also further damaged his sense of personhood. After all, if he could be so easily copied, what made him important at all?

As the months past, the Moira deteriorated along with Asriel’s mental state. He continued to bottle up his problems, keeping his existential issues under a forced smile. The Moira finally crashed into the Midway Hub, a desolate place with seemingly nowhere to go. There, he found Chara again, but Chara had no memories of their previous stay. Their meeting ended poorly, and in a fit of anguish, Asriel tried to destroy his disk - and himself. He was stopped by Frisk, and eventually he confessed what he tried to do to Mettaton. The two of them fought, until Mettaton forced out Asriel’s SOUL to prove that he had one. Asriel was overcome with joy at the revelation, knowing that he wasn’t doomed to become a soulless flower if this was the end of their journey.

The remaining Moira crew was rescued and led through a portal, leading them to the planet of Thisavrou instead of home.

After arriving on the planet of Thisavrou, Asriel finally got the life he wanted. He lived in a nice home along with Frisk and Chara, with Mettaton as his next door neighbor. It was everything he could ask for, a home on a peaceful planet where he could finally live like a normal child.

Of course, things didn't stay that way. Asriel took a trip to Asteroid 276, a station promising genetic modifications, and ended up with stronger legs and a lion-like tail as a result. But rumors started that anyone visiting the asteroid was carrying some kind of plague, and the natives of Thisavrou became wary and hostile towards Asriel and anyone else who got modifications as well.

Then Chara, finding out about Asriel's slavery, decided to round up a group to launch an attack on the Outpost. Asriel followed them there, in which he wound up brutally murdering his owner, fighting a collar-controlled Mettaton, and nearly getting himself killed. Despite killing his owner, it didn't bring Asriel any closure, nor did it soothe any of his fears. Instead, it left him with a feeling of guilt that he didn't want to feel and overwhelming despair that he still wasn't free from his fears.

To make matters worse, the following month Asriel and Chara visited a jungle-like planet, where the two of them were attacked by giant spiders. Chara was attacked and paralyzed by the spider's venom. In an effort to protect them, Asriel desperately tried to fight one of the spiders off before its venom blinded him in one eye, leaving him with the side of his face scarred with missing fur. Asriel and Chara were rescued by Shiro, but Asriel had to come to terms with being partially blind.

With the damage that had been done to him, and Thisavrou natives becoming more unwilling to let them live there, Asriel found himself struggling to keep this nice, peaceful life he had found for himself in tact.

SAMPLES
Action Log Sample:

As far as Asriel could tell, this was definitely not Thisavrou.

Being tossed on an unknown planet wasn't a new experience for him, but it was frightening each time it happened. For all he knew, he could be on another Outpost. Sure, this place seemed quieter, but that hardly meant it was going to be safe. Either way, nothing good came from being transported to a different world. If it wasn't slavers, it was deadly creatures or something else equally horrible waiting for him. Heck, there was probably a giant snake around, just waiting to eat him.

The unbearable heat soaking into his white fur wasn't helping his anxiety at all either. Where was he? Where was Chara and Frisk? ... And Mettaton? He wasn't here without them, was he? Or worse, they were here but were in some kind of danger. The thought spurs him to get moving, eager to find the rest of his family.

It was hard to get used to seeing the world through one eye, and especially now it made him feel even more defenseless and scared. Losing his eye was hard, but Chara already felt awful enough about it. Asriel wasn't going to make them feel even worse by making it seem like it was slowing him down. He could still somewhat see, and that was going to have to be good enough. Besides, it wasn't Chara's fault that he got hurt - it was his own. He wasn't good enough at fighting off giant spiders, and that fact nearly got the both of them killed.

He had to do better than that. He had to protect his family better, or he was going to lose them. And he couldn't, not when he finally had the family that he wanted. So if they were in danger, he was going to do everything that he could to find them.

Now if he could just find them...
